Academia

I completed my PhD (Geography) at the National University of Singapore, where I was also awarded the 4-year President’s Graduate Fellowship. My PhD research reconstructed the avulsion history of the Ping River in Northern Thailand, using sedimentological/geophysical methods and luminescence dating.

Previously, I was also a Visiting Scientist at the Physical Research Laboratory (India) as well as the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (India).

I completed my Master of Environment (Environmental Science) and Bachelor of Science (Geography) from The University of Melbourne, Australia. My master’s research investigated the anthropogenic and climatic drivers on channel change of Nariel/Corryong Creek in southeastern Australia. I am also a proud Wyvern alumna of Queen’s College.

I am also a Young Scientist with the research initiative Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR).

Science Communication

I enjoy explaining scientific information and sharing my enthusiasm for science research using a variety of delivery mediums and to a variety of audiences. I am a firm believer that science should be as accessible as possible to the general public. I am very interested in exploring other creative avenues through which science and the experience of science can be shared.

I dabble in various media, including creating videos for my YouTube channel, posting pictures on my Instagram, giving presentations to non-academic audiences, and writing blog posts (including poems!). It is my goal to experiment in as many types of media as possible (such as visual and performance arts) to convey research.
